The Troutville Fire Department would like to thank all of those who helped participate in the event, as well as the kind citizens who provided treats and donations along the way. The department would also like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday season!

October 16, 2009 Hunter Found Safe in the Woods Three teenage boys who got lost in northern Botetourt County while on a hunting trip have been found.
Fire officials in Eagle Rock say the three teenagers went racoon hunting late Thursday afternoon off of Lignite Road near Oriskany. The boys, ages 13, 16 and 18, waited too long to leave the woods. When fog, mist and darkness set in, the boys could not find their way out of the hunting area.
Authorities say one of the boys called 911 around 2:15 a.m. to report that the group was lost. They were able to give crews a general location. Once daylight hit, the boys found a road and an Eagle Rock fire truck picked them up.
Major Delbert Dudding with the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office says the teenagers are in good condition. They were found cold and wet but otherwise unharmed.
